Texas Hospital Removes Breastfeeding Woman

After an online complaint, the University Medical Center apologized to Erin Pena.

A woman, who was removed from a Texas hospital for breastfeeding her son, took to Facebook to blast University Medical Center in Lubbock Tuesday.

Erin Pena was feeding her son while she waited for her OB/GYN appointment when she was told to cover up, according to a Mail Online report. Pena said the receptionist told her if she didn’t stop feeding her son that she would be removed from the office by security. After trying to talk to her doctor, Pena ended up being escorted out of the office.

“I refused, and she (the receptionist) cancelled it, so I went to find the doctor thinking she would be reasonable and she wasn’t. She was condescending, kept calling me ‘honey.”’

After the incident went out on social media, the University Medical Center apologized to Pena.
