A 17-year-old girl was shot Wednesday night while she was waiting for a ride after an event at Savannah High School. Authorities believe she was caught in the crossfire of a shooting that happened in the school’s parking lot.

Savannah-Chatham Metro Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying at least two suspects in the case, reports WTOC.

The news source is reporting that the victim was shot while occupants of two vehicles exchanged gunfire. Bullets also struck a nearby home. Police believe the victim was an innocent bystander.

The female sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken by ambulance to a local hospital.
