BALTIMORE—Last week a 19-year-old Good Samaritan Hospital patient went into a coma after being tased by a police officer’s Taser.

The patient, who has only been identified as a ward of the state, died the next day.

The teen was taken to the hospital May 6, and two Baltimore Police officers were summoned the following afternoon after the patient became combative, reports the Baltimore Sun. After they saw the teen struggling with five security officers, one of the police officers struck him with a Taser.

Prior to the incident, the patient had been medicated, although the quantity of medication is not clear.
