A teacher was grazed by a bullet after a school resource officer accidentally fired his gun inside a Michigan high school Friday.
The teacher was instructing students when the bullet went through a wall and grazed her neck area, reports mlive.com. Luckily, the bullet did not break skin and the teacher was uninjured.
The incident occurred in Bay City Western High School around 12:30 p.m. A Bay County Sheriff’s deputy was alone in a classroom when he discharged his weapon. Police have not said why the officer had his gun out or how it was discharged.

Following the gun shot, administrators placed the school in “secure mode.” After it was determined there was no active threat, classes resumed as normal.
The deputy has been placed on administrative leave as Michigan State Police investigate the incident.
The Bay County Prosecutor’s Office will determine what, if any, charges should be brought against the officer following the investigation.
