SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A teacher at Salinas Elementary is accused of lining up more than 20 kindergartners and ordering them to hit a classmate who was allegedly a bully.
A younger colleague reportedly went to the teacher for help last month in disciplining the six-year-old, and the teacher organized the punishment, the Associated Press reports. The younger teacher only intervened after one of the children hit the boy hard on his upper back, according to police.
Both teachers were put on paid administrative leave, and the teacher who allegedly organized the beating will not work for the district next school year. Prosecutors are determining whether formal charges will be filed.
