LOS ANGELES – A man suspected in the shooting death of a 17-year-old boy near a Southern California high school surrendered to Van Nuys police on Sept. 14.
Bruce Williams, 38, of Mission Hills, is believed to be the getaway driver in the murder of Dazohn Tony Roberts, a gang member who suffered multiple gunshot wounds in the lower torso Wednesday after exchanging gunfire with rival gang member Nanshon Williams, 16, of Van Nuys. Roberts later died of his injuries that same day.
Neither victim nor suspect was a student at Birmingham High School where the shooting took place.
Bruce Williams, who is not related to Nanshon Williams, is being held without bail because he is on parole for an assault with a deadly weapon conviction. Nanshon Williams is still at large.
