Superintendent Didn’t Know Campus Police Were In Charge Of Rape Case

MACON, Ga. — Bibb County School Superintendent Dr. Romain Dallemand announced at a news conference Jan. 31 that he was unaware that Bibb County Campus Police were in charge of a rape investigation until Jan. 30. The alleged incident occurred Jan. 19.

As of Jan. 30, Dallemand has instructed the campus police to turn the case over to Macon Police, 41NBC News reports. Dallemand also apologized for not addressing the community sooner in regards to the incident.

Parts of the alleged rape, in which seven students reportedly assaulted a 16-year-old special-needs student in a school bathroom, may have been caught on tape by school security cameras.
