PHILADELPHIA – A 17-year-old football player at Martin Luther King High School died from methicillin resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) Sept. 23.
The victim, Saalen Jones, was a senior at the high school. In addition, two players with lesions on their bodies are being tested for drug-resistant staph infection.
The school is being cleaned. MRSA is becoming more common in hospitals, gyms and locker rooms.
