South Carolina Hospital Security Guard Arrested for Assault

EASLEY, S.C. – A security guard at Palmetto Baptist Health Center recently admitted to charges of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old visitor.

According to police reports, the teenage girl claims she was waiting to pick up a friend when Billy Edwards approached her. After he began to touch her sexually, she punched him in the face and ran inside for help.

Easley police arrested Edwards on site. He declined to comment on July 3.

A spokesperson for Palmetto Health claims Edwards worked indirectly at the hospital for four years with a security company under contract with the hospital. He will not return to Palmetto Health.
