Solution to Town-Gown Divide: Student Service?

One British government official has called for University of Cambridge students to be required to work on community projects.

Some believe compulsory “city service” is the only way to get them out of their “privileged silos,” increase empathy for the poor among Cambridge students and improve town-gown relations.
