An 18-year-old Soka University student was arrested on Feb. 1, four hours after he barricaded himself in a fourth floor dorm room and threw furniture and other items out of the window.

The incident, which occurred around 4:15 p.m., began when the unidentified student’s roommate told police that his roommate was acting strangely and had locked himself in his room, according to the OC Register. The suspect refused to talk and was throwing furniture out of the window.

This resulted in a SWAT team being called and the fourth floor of the dormitory being evacuated.

Police said the only crime it seems the student committed was vandalism.
