CHICAGO – A former doctor at St. Joseph Hospital is suing the medical center, saying that if hospital security staff had been monitoring the facility’s video surveillance system, officers could have prevented a man from entering the doctor’s office and sexually attacking her.
The lawsuit claims Marquis Allen, who was arrested in June for sexual assault, was seen roaming around the hospital on a number of security cameras; however, no one was watching the monitors, according to WGNtv.com. The victim claims that if someone had been watching the video, they would have realized that Allen was not allowed in certain areas and detained him before the attack.
Hospital officials have not responded to the lawsuit’s allegations.
