Security Increased After Shower Attack on U of Illinois Student

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Security at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) has been increased after an attack on a female student who was showering in a residence hall.

According to ABC 7 News, the campus police department has added more patrols and installed security cameras to prevent future incidents.

UIUC Police Chief Barbara O’Connor addressed concerns in a question-and-answer format on the campus security webpage. O’Connor said the increased police presence on campus has resulted in over 25 arrests for robbery and assault.
