Seattle Public Schools to Pay Alleged Rape Victim $700K Settlement

Even though investigation results are pending, Seattle Public Schools are expected to pay an alleged rape victim a large settlement.

Wash. – The Seattle Public School district is expected to pay a settlement of $700,000 to a female student who alleged she was raped at 15 years old during a nature field trip.

The district settled with the female students and her parents earlier this month, reports Q13Fox.com.

The student’s rape allegations were dismissed by Seattle Public Schools, and are being investigated by the Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights. The result of the investigation is pending.

According to the district, the victim’s settlement has not yet been approved, and will go before the entire board on Oct. 15.
