Response Technologies Ltd., the manufacturer and distributor of a duress and emergency notification system, has extended the application deadline for its inaugural emergency safety grant program for eligible K-12 public schools in the United States to August 31. Applications are accepted online only at response-technologies.com.

“We understand that some school districts do not have the budget allocation for security upgrades or improvements, so that’s why we created this program”, says Andy Morrison, President, Response Technologies Ltd.

The value of the duress and emergency notification system that will be awarded ranges between $12,000 and $18,000 depending on the size of the district and includes installation at no charge, with professional training for select school staff.

All K-12 public school districts located in the continental United States and qualified by that state’s Department of Education, are eligible. All schools within the district must use the same IT network. Selection will be based on application details such as current security measures in place, future plans for security enhancements, number of buildings within the district, student population and cooperation from local law enforcement.
