School Security Officer Hits Pedestrians With District Truck
COLUMBUS, Ga. — Police arrested a Muscogee County School District (MCSD) security officer for striking two pedestrians with a district vehicle on Dec. 15, which resulted in the death of one of the victims.
Alfie Johnson has been charged with second-degree homicide by vehicle and failure to maintain a lane, WTVM 9 reports. His victims include 50-year-old Loretta Williams, who was pronounced dead at the Medical Center, and 63-year-old Linda Estell, who has been declared as an incomplete quadriplegic.
Authorities did not comment on why Johnson may have swerved, but said drugs and alcohol weren’t involved.
