School Security Officer Dies After Breaking Up Fight

VICTORVILLE, Calif. – Victor Valley High School security officer “DJ” Kelly went into cardiac arrest on Monday, shortly after helping to stop a fight between two students near the school.

Right after the fight, Kelly, 53, suffered chest pains and shortness of breath. He then collapsed. Although a police officer who was nearby attempted to resuscitate Kelly, he died at a local hospital, reports the Daily Press.

Kelly had been employed with the district since 2000 and is survived by his wife and three children.
