School Security Guard Accused of Sex Crimes Against Students

DESERT HOT SPRINGS, Calif.—Police have arrested a security guard at Desert Springs Middle School on suspicion of sex crimes involving girls at the school.

Marvin Cash, 45, was booked Tuesday morning for committing a lewd act on a child under the age of 14 using force, sexual battery and two counts of annoying or molesting a minor, according to Mydesert.com.

At least one of the suspected incidents happened during school hours.

Cash has been on paid administrative leave since March 24. School officials said a background check was conducted before Cash was hired.
