LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles School Police Department offices will be set up in 14 unused classrooms at Venice High School. Previously, there was speculation that Ocean Charter School would move to the campus and utilize the classrooms.
Police will occupy the western corner of the school, The Venice High Oarsman reports. The West division of the Los Angeles School Police Department is housed at Daniel Webster Middle School, but will be moved to Venice High by the start of the next school year.
Some teachers and other offices were moved to make room for the police. Biology teacher Sangeeta Singh said teachers were given little notice, and her classroom now lacks lab stations.
