School Coach Charged in iPad Theft

ATHERTON, Calif. — A former Menlo School coach has been charged with the thefts of two iPads that belonged to students.

Michael Taylor confessed to taking the devices during a police interview on Nov. 16, Mercury News reports. The iPads were recovered from Taylor’s house by police and returned to their owners. Taylor has since resigned from Menlo School.

On Nov.1, police arrested two Menlo College students for allegedly stealing iPads and other devices from Menlo School students’ backpacks. At the time, Taylor reportedly chased the suspects.

Police said they have no reason to believe the thefts are related.
