San Diego School Drug Sting Leads to 15 Arrests

SAN DIEGO – A four-month investigation into drug use at University City and Patrick Henry high schools has led to the arrest of 15 students.

Eight boys and one girl at University City High, and six male students at Patrick Henry high were arrested Jan. 3 on suspicion of drug possession. In addition to the possession charges, they all may be expelled from school, while some may be charged with selling drugs. An arrest warrant has also been issued for a boy who transferred from University City out of state. Police say several of the students arrested were repeat offenders.

Two undercover officers posed as students at both schools last fall and were able to purchase narcotics on or near the campuses. According to authorities, the officers were able to buy marijuana, ecstasy, prescription pain medication and magic mushrooms.
