South Carolina – A School Safety Task Force drafted a report that recommends South Carolina schools practice more safety and lockdown drills and have more School Resource Officers and school psychologists.

The report is only a recommendation and not a requirement due to costs, reports WLTX 19.

The task force also recommended creating risk and vulnerability assessment teams to check school safety plans, alongside a threat and risk assessment team to identify individuals that may pose a threat to the schools.

The task force will bring its report draft to its November 6th meeting and expects feedback from the community. It will present the final recommendations to lawmakers once the go back into session in January.
