Rutgers University to Reorganize

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J.- Rutgers University has officially adopted a reorganization plan that will simplify its undergraduate college system yet keep an all-female section on the campus.

The plan, which Rutgers officials hope will streamline the university and will probably go into effect in the fall of 2007, consolidates four of the five colleges at the central New Brunswick-Piscataway campus. The four will be unified to become the school of arts and sciences. This school will have one set of admission standards and academic requirements. The school of environmental and biological sciences will be created from the fifth college.

Douglass Residential College will contain the all-female campus and female-oriented programs.
