The CBORD Group, Inc., the leading provider of campus card and integrated security solutions to colleges and universities, is pleased to announce the addition of two new off-campus payment partners: Roger Williams University (Bristol, RI) and Stonehill College (Easton, MA). Both schools have partnered with CBORD and UGryd, the company’s proprietary central server transaction solution, to improve transaction times and merchant services for their already successful off-campus programs.
“We have been running our own off-campus program for six years with success, but we didn’t have the internal resources to grow the program to reach student and merchant demand,” says Jon Small, Director of Special Events and Conferences, Roger Williams University. “By implementing CBORD’s central server technology, as well as CBORD’s superior customer service for our merchant base, in a very short time we’ve seen tremendous growth in the number of participating merchants, as well as in the overall transaction volume.”
Roger Williams previously had three merchants accepting the discretionary fund. CBORD was able to add 17 additional locations, while Stonehill had 3 existing merchants with CBORD adding an additional 12.
“The flexibility of our platform allows CBORD to create expansion opportunities for schools that may already be seeing significant transactions off campus,” says Shawn McCarthy, Managing Director, CBORD Off-Campus Commerce Programs. “With our IP technology processing transactions in less than five seconds and our real-time online management tool tracking each dollar, participating merchants are able to have complete insight into sales cycles, while our daily ACH settlement aids with cash flow and account reconciliation on a timely basis.”
Both Roger Williams University and Stonehill College utilize CBORD’s Odyssey PCS™ campus card solution. CBORD offers an industry-leading central server solution for Odyssey PCS and CS Gold®, providing real-time connections between universities and merchants, as well as eliminating modem banks, phone lines, and other hardware on campus.
