Roanoke College Hires Director of Campus Safety

Thomas Rambo will join the college's campus safety team.

SALEM, Va. – Roanoke College has named a new director of campus safety.

Thomas Rambo, who has more than 27 years of experience in police work and higher education, will fill the position left by Tom Turner, who retired in January.

Prior to joining Roanoke College’s campus safety team, Rambo was the assistant vice president for student life and director of public safety at Susquehanna University.

Prior to his nine years at Susquehanna, Rambo was a police officer in Philadelphia and Montgomery County, Pa. He also worked for the University of Pennsylvania Police Department for 18 years, holding several positions, including chief of police and tactical commander.
