Retired Cop to Coordinate Security at N.J. School

MILLBURN, N.J. — Millburn Township Public Schools has appointed a retired police officer to serve as the district security coordinator.

Capt. Michael Palardy, who served at the Millburn Police Department for 28 years, will start the new position on Sept. 3, NorthJersey.com reports. Additionally, the district has appointed Jerry Mantone as a part-time security guard to monitor the middles school for 10 months. Officials also plan to hire a second security guard for the middle school.
