Researcher Accused of Economic Spying for China

The FBI is alleging that a Medical College of Wisconsin employee illegally acquired patented cancer research material and provided that material to a Chinese university.

On March 29, Hua Jun Zhao, 42, was arrested and charged with knowingly engaging in economic espionage benefiting a foreign government, foreign instrumentality or foreign agent. Authorities believe he stole a cancer-research compound and delivered it to Zhejiang University.

Zhao is currently in jail, and no bail has been set, reports the Associated Press.
