MIDWEST CITY, Okla. – Law enforcement officers shot and wounded a burglary suspect who had run onto the campus of Rose State College.
Police had responded to a burglary call early Monday morning at a residence near the campus and were chasing two suspects as they ran away from the scene, reports NewsOK. One of the suspects was found crouching near a trash bin by the school’s Aquatics Center.
Midwest City Police Chief Brandon Clabes says the male suspect produced a handgun despite one officer telling the man to show his hands. The suspect, who remains unidentified, was then shot several times and is in critical condition.
Authorities are still looking for the second suspect. No one else was injured during the incident.
