Police Search for Man Accused of Molesting Students at 2 Schools

OAKLAND, Calif. – Police are searching for a man who walked onto the World Academy-Education for Change and Think College Now Elementary School campuses and allegedly inappropriately touched students.

Authorities had to lock down World Academy-Education for Change on March 7 after a 7-year-old girl told school authorities that a stranger approached are and molested her. Police did not find the suspect, but have determined that the assailant is not a member of school staff, Oakland Tribune reports.

The incident has led police that the suspect in this case is the same individual who inappropriately touched a 6-year-old girl at Think College Now on Jan. 24. The two schools are within two blocks of each other.

Police released a sketch of the suspect, who is described as white or Hispanic, 6 feet tall, 180-200 pounds with black hair and a mustache. He may have a rash or birthmark on the left side of his forehead.

As a result of the incident, Think College Now has increased security measures, including requiring all parents to check in at an office and locking all doors on campus. Additionally, Oakland police officers are training parents to patrol the perimeter of the school.
