Police Fatally Shoot Salter School Stabbing Suspect
Two Salter School employees were stabbed by a 30-year-old man in the school’s parking lot.
TEWKSBURY, Mass. – Police fatally shot on Tuesday a 30-year-old man who stabbed two Salter School employees in the school’s parking lot, and then fled to a nearby neighborhood.
The unidentified suspect approached a parked car with two of the school’s employees – a man and a woman – inside. He slashed two of the car’s tires and then stabbed the victims. Authorities believe the man knew at least one of the victims, Boston Herald reports.
The victims suffered non-life-threatening injuries from the attack.
Police arrived at the scene around 9 a.m., and chased the suspect who fled the scene on foot. The suspect, who was in possession of a knife and a Colt .177 BB gun, was shot after refusing to comply with orders given by officers.
The officers have been placed on administrative leave while the shooting is investigated.
The stabbings triggered a lockdown at the school as investigators searched for witnesses.
