Police: Student Shot Classmate Over Girl

Jackson police charged a Liberty High School student in Thursday afternoon’s shooting that wounded another student on campus.

The 16-year-old male student has been charged with aggravated assault, carrying a weapon on school property, alteration of an item with permanent distinguishing numbers and tampering with evidence, reports JacksonSun.com. He might be charged as an adult.

The 17-year-old victim was shot outside school as classes were being dismissed. Police say the suspect had been in a previous disagreement concerning a female Liberty student.
