LOS ANGELES — A hand grenade found at West Veteran Affair Hospital that prompted authorities to evacuate the facility Monday, was determined to be a fake.
Around 7 a.m., deputies received a call to respond to a possible explosive after security guards reported seeing a grenade in one of the hospital rooms, the Los Angeles Times reports. After determining the grenade was a replica, authorities allowed patients and visitors back into the hospital.
Police are still investigating the incident.
