TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — Two Florida A&M University (FAMU) faculty members were present for the hazing of band fraternity members which occurred in the home of one of the professors, police said.
Diron Holloway and Anthony Simons, both employed by FAMU, were named as suspects in the investigation, The Tallahassee Democrat reports. The State Attorney’s Office will not prosecute the case because the statute of limitations may have run out.
During the alleged incident, which occurred in the spring of 2010, pledges were reportedly slapped on the back of the head or neck, The Associated Press reports.
The incident was reported after the November hazing death of FAMU drum major Robert Champion, who suffered blunt force trauma while in Orlando for a football game.
