Police Arrest Man for Sexual Assault of Student in College Restroom

Police arrested a 34-year-old for allegedly raping a 19-year-old female student in the bathroom at Montgomery College’s campus performing arts center.

The Washington Post reports that the assault, which lasted for about an hour, took place around 2 p.m. on Jan. 26, when Nathaniel Hart crawled under a bathroom stall, told the victim he had a gun and then raped her. The victim reported that Hart then hugged her and sobbed, and then raped her again.

The victim had entered the bathroom a short time after leaving a class.

Officials locked down the campus for 90 minutes. Police found Hart at a Days Inn near the campus later in the evening after performing a manhunt in the immediate area.

Hart was charged with two counts of first-degree rape and one count each of attempted first-degree sex offense and attempted escape. He is being held without bond.
