Police Arrest 72 People in Notre Dame Community

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Indiana State Excise Police arrested a total of 72 people on 99 charges over the weekend on and around the University of Notre Dame campus.

The officers were working at Notre Dame this weekend as part of the Intensified College Enforcement, or ICE, initiative, the South Bend Tribune reports. The new program aims to reduce underage drinking at six college campuses: the University of Notre Dame, Indiana University, Purdue University, Ball State, Butler and Indiana State University.

Forty-one people were arrested during tailgating before Notre Dame’s game against Michigan.
