Point Park U. Introduces Campus Police Force
PITTSBURGH — Point Park University has a new police force on its campus to give students and faculty more security. There are five officers in the department.
The department is currently using bicycle and foot patrols, The Connecticut Post reports. The university plans to eventually purchase a police vehicle.
The officers have received the same training as municipal police officers, according to Point Park police Chief Jeffrey Besong. The department’s jurisdiction will cover the campus and up to a block away from its borders.
