SPORTING HILL, Pa. — School districts throughout Pennsylvania have banned Halloween celebrations on campus, enraging many parents.
Administrators canceled Halloween-themed parties and costume parades due to safety concerns, loss of instructional time and church and state issues. However, parents have called the explanations a bunch of hogwash, claiming that administrators are attempting to take the fun away from students, PennLive.com reports.
Some schools have allowed teachers to host parties in their classrooms, and will allow school wide events, such as costume parades to occur before or after school.
