Published: January 22, 2011

HARRISBURG, Pa. — A bomb threat that turned out to be a hoax was called in to Harrisburg Hospital on Jan. 17. The State Police bomb squad discovered a device in a hospital bathroom, but it was not a real explosive.

The hospital went to “condition orange” during the incident, and all personnel and patients 300 feet below and above the fake bomb were evacuated.

Police X-rayed the device and determined that it was not real. The hospital resumed normal operations shortly thereafter.
