BENSALEM, Pa. – A student at Bensalem High School admitted to stabbing himself in the stomach, authorities said.

On Nov. 29, a 15-year-old student, whose name has not been released, stabbed himself in the boys’ bathroom at approximately 1:30 p.m. His stabbing resulted in the school being locked down for 90 minutes.

Officials said that when the boy stumbled out of the restroom with scissor pierced in his abdomen, he told teachers that an unknown individual stabbed him from behind.

When police started interviewing several students and the injured party, authorities stated the boy changed his story. Authorities refused to say what prompted the student to stab himself; however, he is receiving necessary psychiatric treatment.
