Penn State to Upgrade Dorm Security

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Penn State plans to spend millions of dollars to renovate its residence halls, including upgrading security.

More than 14,000 students live in the university’s 56 dorm buildings, WJACTV.com reports.

Officials plan to add video surveillance cameras and an access control system that will allow students to enter residence halls and their suites by swiping a card.

It is unclear when the university will begin construction on the new project.
