TIOGA, Penn. — An 18-year-old student from Gratz High School was severely beaten on Feb. 4 by a group of students and non-students on school grounds. The attack, which took place after first period, sent Keenan Williams to the hospital with a shattered eye socket and a concussion.
Williams was hospitalized overnight at Saint Christopher’s Hospital, ABC News reports. He did not know his attackers, but was punched over and over again until a school security guard pulled him away from the group. Some of the attackers do not attend the school.
The school already has security measures in place, such as requiring students to swipe an ID card to enter school grounds. However, students can bring friends through the unsecured lunchroom doors.
