FRESNO, Calif. – Video product manufacturer Pelco has donated more than $16,000 of equipment to the University Police Department at California State University, Fresno.
The equipment, a video management system, is a software update for the police dispatch center designed to merge multiple video-device signals and control functions into a single system. According to a statement released by the school, this will help decrease the response time for officers by allowing them to focus closed-circuit cameras on an exact location where an emergency alarm is set off or phone call originates.
Fresno State Police Chief David Huerta said he is pleased with the relationship the department has with Pelco and appreciates the company’s support. The police department plans to expand use of closed-circuit cameras and update current equipment and software, Huerta said.
