ALLENTOWN, Pa. — A premature infant was returned to the neonatal intensive care unit at the Lehigh Valley Health Network Oct. 23 after her parents removed the child from the facility, reports the Express Times.
The parents of the infant were visiting the three-month-old girl when hospital officials warned them that taking the child from the facility could jeopardize her health. When the parents ignored the medical advice, staff members alerted hospital security and local police.
Police stopped the parents and recovered the child not far from the hospital. Police decided not to press charges because the parents took the infant.
