WEST MIFFLIN, Pa. — A civil rights and breach-of-contract lawsuit against the West Mifflin Area School District was settled according to a court document filed on Feb. 18. The lawsuit was filed by the district’s former security director who was laid off last summer.
Joseph Gajdos was one of 13 employees who were laid off after the district created a new budget, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports. Gajdos alleges that the district violated his rights by firing him without a hearing and also breached his five-year contract, which wasn’t set to expire until 2012.
The court documents did not provide details of the settlement.
