OU to Charge $25 to Dorm Visitors During Halloween Event

ATHENS, Ohio – Ohio University (OU) officials announced the school will charge $25 for each visitor who stays in its dormitories during the annual Halloween weekend street party. The fee should cover most of OU’s expenses for the celebration.

One official estimated the charges could raise an additional $75,000 if 3,000 guests stay in the dorms. Last year’s event cost OU more than $91,000, much of which was used to cover additional security deployed around the residence halls. The university says more than 2,400 visitors stayed in the dorms during the event.
