OXFORD, Ohio — Miami University is offering students a free mobile app that connects them with emergency responders if they are “potentially suicidal,” USA Today reports.
The Just in Case app is part of a pilot program from eReadia LLC, customized for Miami students. Tabs indicate suicidal emotions to direct students to help such as, “I can’t cope,” “I might hurt myself,” or “I’m worried about a friend.”
Online training for students, faculty and staff to learn about common indicators of psychological distress is also available through the school.
