COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Board of Regents voted unanimously Monday to urge public campuses to ban sales and use of tobacco products.
The recommendation came after a review showed that such policies will bring health benefits and cut costs for education institutions, the Coshocton Tribune reports. The recommendation extends to all campuses including Ohio State, which currently only bans indoor smoking and some outdoor smoking around its health facilities.
At least seven public colleges or universities in the state currently have tobacco bans.
