Ohio District to Allow Staff to Carry Guns on School Grounds

NEWCOMERSTOWN, Ohio — Officials with the Newcomerstown Exempted Village School District have approved a new policy that authorizes employees to carry guns on school campuses.

Under the policy, which takes effect during the 2013-14 academic school year, staff members with concealed carry permits designated by the school board and superintendent will be allowed to bring guns on school grounds. Selected employees must undergo training and obtain recertification by the Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Department annually, TimesReporter.com reports.
