CLEVELAND — To deter crime on campus, Cleveland State Community College (CSCC) has transitioned its campus security department to a full-fledged police force.
Previously, security guards with the campus security department weren’t armed. Now, with its Police Officer Standard Training (POST) Certified Police Department, officers will be able to carry guns, Cleveland Daily Banner reports.
Additionally, the Campus Police Department, which was previously located across the street from CSCC, will not be in a more centralized location on campus.
