A female student was punched at Oakland University in Michigan last week in what the school’s police chief is calling a random assault, according to an Oakland Press report.
“Based on the description the victim gave us, it has a lot of characteristics that resemble a ‘knockout’ type of incident,” said Oakland University Police Chief Mark Gordon Monday in the article. The victim was not injured and nothing was taken in the assault, which took place on the sidewalk of the Kresge Library on Oct. 16 at about 10 a.m. and wasn’t reported until the following Saturday.
Gordon said the suspect was a male, wearing a dark colored hoodie, but they are also investigating whether one or two suspects were involved. Police are also following up on information from security camera footage in the area and information received from the victim. Anyone with information, should to contact them at 248-370-3331. Oakland University students can also call the police for a visual escort.
